Sizes 8-26 all included in one envelope. 1940s “Swing” Dress Pattern, inspired by an original Hollywood design, circa 1942. The design comes from the WWII days of fabric rationing, which meant narrower skirts and more tailored lines. Sizes 8-26 all included in one envelope. Unique yoke with gathered shoulders and two sleeve options (short and “bracelet-length”). Gored skirt great for twirling! Put on your dancing shoes! 1882 Tea Gown Pattern

Historically designed to be worn in semipublic and with a corset, this casual gown is perfect for teas or morning breakfasts. True to the non-bustled, Natural Form style, the skirt portion is slim in the front with the back flaring for a full train. This gown is cut in princess style, with no seams at the waistline. With the watteaux back, this gown is perfect as a tea gown. With the plain back, this dress can be suitable for regular day wear. Fitted to the body with double darts, the front closes from neck to hem with buttons or frogs. The hem can be either trained or sweep length. The fitted sleeve is in two pieces. This gown can be fully boned, or lightly boned, as the wearer prefers. The bodice is drafted based on a tailoring method actually used in the 1880’s. Each size is hand drawn, not scaled, with all of the bodice seams are true to the era. This bodice is designed to fit snugly over a corset, without a bustle. The skirt length is drafted to fit a measure of 40″, from waist to hem, at the front. 1873 Polonaise Pattern

1873 Polonaise. Multisized 30-50″ Bust. This is a polonaise with a basque back, i.e. the back has an upper bodice section overlapping a lower section with poufs. The front buttons to the waist and then falls open into two points, with pleats at the sides. As an option, the buttons can be extended down the front to give a round apron effect. This style was very popular in the early 1870’s. The sleeve is a full length pleated bell. Two neckline options are given. This pattern is recommended for intermediate to advanced sewers. Our patterns are drafted based on a tailoring method actually used in the 1870’s. Each size is hand drawn, not scaled. All of the bodice seams are true to the era, and it is designed to fit snugly over a corset. Sizing and Yardage Information: Multisized 30-50 Bust 45″/60″ wide fabric All Sizes Fabric 4 1/4 yards Lining 1 1/2 yards Interlining 1 1/2 yards Yardages given are with nap, and are approximate only. For Interlining, use a mediium/heavy firmly woven fabric like twill or denim. Notions: Ten ¼” Bones; Buttons or hooks and eyes for closure; twill tape; tie strings. This bodice is designed after a style shown in an 1883 Harper’s Bazaar magazine. This style was also popular in the later 1880’s and 1890’s, as well. The front of this bodice has a point and the sides extend past the waist. The back and side-back have “tails” that lay in double box pleats, giving the classic “waterfall” style The sleeve is in 2 pieces, and can be made either full- or ¾-length. There is a full mandarin collar for the high neck, and a half collar for the open neck variation. Bust sizes 30-50″ included.
